What we’ll work on together.

Bring a race goal or a detail you want to improve. Repeat it at a useful pace, test a change with feedback and leave with a way to check progress in training.

Is this lesson for you?

Masters and competitive swimmers

You train consistently and want technical coaching that respects your experience while examining the details a squad session may not isolate.

Confident swimmers chasing a PB

Your general stroke is established, but a specific race phase, pacing decision or technical limit is preventing further improvement.

Competitors losing time at walls

Approaches, turns, streamlines or breakouts vary between repetitions and cost momentum across every length.

Swimmers whose skill changes under speed

Breathing, stroke length, timing or decision-making works in training pace but becomes unreliable under race pressure.

Skills we can work on

Your lesson will focus on the skills most useful to you, with time to practise and ask questions.

  • Turns, wall contact and approach distance

Refine the final strokes into the wall, rotation timing, foot placement and push direction for faster, more repeatable transitions.

  • Streamlines, underwaters and breakouts

Protect velocity off the wall through shape, depth, kick timing and a breakout that connects cleanly to the first stroke.

  • Race pace and speed distribution

Develop repeatable opening speed, middle-race control and finishing intent for the demands of your chosen event.

  • Breath management under pressure

Choose breathing patterns that support oxygen needs without disrupting alignment, timing or tactical awareness.

  • Starts and stroke-specific details

When facility and context allow, address reaction, entry, transition and the technical demands of your race stroke.

What you’re working towards

01

Consistent walls and transitions

Replace improvised approaches with repeatable movement patterns you can reproduce late in a race.

02

Momentum carried into the stroke

Hold speed through the streamline, underwater phase and breakout rather than accelerating again from a poor transition.

03

Race pacing you can execute

Connect target pace to stroke count, breathing and perceived effort so the plan is usable under pressure.

04

A precise performance priority

Direct training attention to the detail most likely to change your result instead of adding more undifferentiated hard work.

Your first lesson

Choose one event or race phase before you arrive. Several comparable efforts help distinguish a consistent pattern from a single poor turn. You leave with a precise priority and a simple way to judge it in training.

  1. 1

    Choose the performance question

Identify the event, split, transition or technical detail that currently has the greatest value.

  2. 2

Observe it at a useful speed

Repeat the skill at a pace high enough to reveal the real pattern without turning the session into a fitness test.

  3. 3

    Test and define the priority

Apply one change, compare the result and establish a specific training task you can reproduce.
